Imagine this, it is March 2020, Nick & Elyssa are both bored out of their minds because it is peak pandemic, everything is shut down, and they both have been in quaratine for what feels like forever. A little backstory, they both grew up playing video games, so they thought nothing would come out of their one millionth game online. Yet, one random night they happened to get in a game together with all of Nicks friends out of millions of players online. If you hear anyone on Nicks side call Elyssa "Mike", it's because that was her gamertag... and it stuck with her... forever. From that one game on Call of Duty, they as a group were inseperable. They would play Call of Duty until 6 am, get back on by 4pm, and repeat... Sometime in the mix of all the chaos in the group, Elyssa & Nick started talking alone. Which led to endless facetimes, texts, and eventually, falling crazily in love with each other, even though Nick lived in Ohio and Elyssa lived in North Carolina.

5 months later, on August 9th 2020, Nick drove 6 hours down to NC to meet Elyssa in person for one day. From then on, Nick was in NC almost every weekend up until he left for basic training the end of September. With even more distance and no communication, they ended up going their separate ways, until June 2021 came around and Elyssa invited the group down for a birthday party. The moment Nick & Elyssa saw each other in person again, they knew it was time to put the distance to the side and make it work. On July 3, 2021, Elyssa came up to Cincinnati for the first time and they made it official. They managed to see eachother at least two weekends a month and facetimed every single day until August 3, 2022, when Nick (and Adam) moved down to NC. Nick & Elyssa lived life to the fullest and started their own little family with their dogs (children), Little Boy and Indy. After a year of living in NC, they decided it was time to move back up to Cincinnati and see what life would be like up there together. Just 6 months later, Nick got down on one knee and asked Elyssa to marry him on December 23, 2023.

Nick & Elyssa went down to NC to spend Christmas at her dad & bonus mom's house. Elyssa was putting up a few ornaments on their Christmas tree when her dad decides to hand her a "funny" boxed ornament. It is a tradition for her to get a new ornament at everyone of her houses every year, so she thought nothing of it. As Elyssa is opening the ornament, it reads "Our First Christmas Engaged 2023". When she turns around, Nick is on one knee with a ring in his hands, and shakily pops the question, "Will you marry me?". And, of course Elyssa said "yes" or none of you would be here reading this right now.
