Hey everyone! Lucas and I are so excited to do this with all of you! We are looking forward to a night of good old fashioned paranormal shenanigans. This is legit, and we assume you'll have questions, so I tried to answer some below. Lucas here. I enjoy spending time with most of you (to the ones I don't, you know what you did) so this should be fun. I thought it would be awfully one-sided if Regina filled out the FAQ's alone. When she was done I did some editing. My comments are in parenthesis below.
We are going on a paranormal investigation with a seasoned investigator in a supposedly haunted house. (Bullshit.) This is not an attraction. Nothing is going to jump out at us like an amusement park. The idea is to investigate actual spirits that haunt this house. (Gonna be hard to do because they don't exist. Maybe next get-together we can investigate the tooth fairy or responsible government spending.)
Drinks and snacks before or after the event at the hotel or wherever are all pay on your own. We are going to organize a dinner beforehand. This will either be pay on your own or we will work with a restaurant on a special group dinner. This is TBD. The actual Ghost Hunt will be no more than $75/person depending on final headcount. This covers the cost of our private presentation, ghost hunt, and the staff of the paranormal investigator and Vail House. You can pay Regina at the event or via Venmo @ReginaHili. I can text you the code if that's easier.
The event starts in the Carriage House where Frank will share a presentation of his own experiences. (I hope he brings garlic and silver. Oh, wait, wrong lie.) After the presentation we will walk up to the actual house where the investigation will begin. Frank has paranormal investigator tools like thermal imaging, magnetic rod thingies, maybe voice recorders....some of the stuff you see on the show Ghost Adventures. (Well if it's on Ghost Adventures it MUST be true). The house has two floors. There are chairs around if people need to sit. We can move through as a group or split up on each floor.
Frank Rigillo of Specter Seekers has over 30 years of experience investigating the paranormal. (I bet he's never caught one.) He does a lot with the Morris County Parks Commission and has access to the house we will be investigating. He has also been on some TV shows about the paranormal. https://www.facebook.com/njssps/
Here is a link with some info on the Vail House and the Carriage House. It's part of Historic Speedwell: https://www.hmdb.org/m.asp?m=32896 If you just Google "Vail House", you'll see something called the Vail Mansion. That's something different. We're not going there. (If you Google "Fail House" you'll see some funny stuff. Just saying.)
Dress comfortably. (I find it is always best to be comfy when I'm not seeing any ghosts.) We will be seated for the initial presentation. There is a short walk from the Carriage House to the Vail House along a paved path. We will be standing/walking through the house although there are chairs around for sitting. (Levitating is optional.) You are encouraged to bring your own ghost hunting equipment like cameras or whatever else you want. (Maybe you can find an abandoned Radio Shack and stock up on Full Spectrum Lie-O-Mometers and Portable Farce-oscopes. I just got my Buffooonery Encapsulator calibrated so I'm ready!)
Some will. Regina will be terrified. There will be an opening and closing prayer so no ghosts follow us home. No joke. (I hope somebody wets themself.)
