In 2007, Lauren and Rob met in gym class at Northern Highlands Regional High School. Lauren beat Rob in a very competitive basketball game of knock out. Even though Rob lost, they remained good friends throughout high school and both attended Boston College. Throughout college, their friendship blossomed into something more. During their senior year of college, Rob asked Lauren out on a date. They watched Lauren's middle school students' band performance (she was their school counselor at the time), had dinner at Max Brenner Chocolate Bar, went ice skating at the Boston Common Frog Pond and the rest is history! After living in Boston and enduring many cold blizzards, Lauren and Rob decided to take a cross country road trip to San Diego. They have been happily living in San Diego for over four years. They love it so much that they recently bought their first home in Pacific Beach!

On March 27, 2021, Rob finally popped the question! They were glamping near Warner Springs, about an hour north of San Diego. Lauren was hoping Rob would propose that weekend since it was so beautiful. While Rob was showering, Lauren sneakily went through every zipper and pocket of his luggage but to her dismay, did not find a ring. So, she assumed a proposal would not be happening that weekend. The next day, Rob carried a ring around in his pocket all day, waiting for the right moment. He clearly had a really great hiding spot for that ring! They cooked breakfast in their tent overlooking the mountains, hiked 6 miles to Eagle Rock, had drinks at a winery, and then went back to the tent to make pizza. Rob brought over champagne and Lauren thought nothing of it since they were celebrating his birthday. They were in the hot tub, looking up at the full moon and all the bright stars. Lauren made a comment about how she could do this forever, and Rob asked if she would want to spend forever with him. Out of nowhere, Rob pulled out a ring and asked Lauren to marry him!
