FAQs

If you have any other questions than what are listed here, please message my maid of honor and sister, Sarah McCormick at 765-637-8036.
Question

When is the RSVP deadline?

Answer

Please RSVP by Friday, July 31st so we can provide an accurate headcount to our venue and caterer.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony will begin promptly at 4:00 pm. We recommend arriving 15-30 minutes early to find your seat.

Question

Where should I park? Is parking free?

Answer

Our wedding reception venue, Thomas Duncan Community Hall, is located in beautiful historic downtown Lafayette. Unfortunately, our wedding falls on the same day as Lafayette's annual downtown GermanFest, so street parking will be limited. We highly recommend using one of the nearby parking lots or garages below! - City Parking Garage (Best Option): Located at 18 N 5th Street. Parking here is completely free all day on Saturdays and Sundays. It is a secure, multi-level garage just a short walk from the reception venue. - Wabash Valley Alliance Lot: Located at 631 Main Street (enter near the alleyway). This lot is open to the public on weekends for just $1 for the entire day. - Tricoci University Lot: Located at 833 Ferry Street. This lot is located two blocks east of the hall and is free to the public after 2:00 PM on Saturdays. - Street Parking: On-street parking surrounding the hall is free all weekend, but spaces will fill up quickly due to the festival.

Question

How do I get from the ceremony to the reception?

Answer

Our ceremony at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church (1005 N 21st St) is just a quick 6-minute drive from our reception venue, Thomas Duncan Community Hall (619 Ferry St). Because Lafayette’s annual GermanFest is happening downtown that evening, Ferry Street will be completely blocked off between 8th and 9th Streets. To avoid getting stuck in festival traffic or hitting a dead end, please use this detour route: 1. Leave the Church: Head south on N 21st Street toward Cason Street. 2. Take Greenbush: Turn right (west) onto Greenbush Street and follow it for about 1 mile. 3. Head South: Turn left (south) onto N 6th Street. 4. Arrive at Parking: Follow N 6th Street straight into downtown. This bypasses the closures completely and places you directly alongside the venue and the free City Parking Garage at 18 N 5th Street! This route will position you to access all three recommended parking options without hitting any festival barriers. Tip: We highly recommend using a GPS app like Google Maps or Waze on the day of the wedding, as they will automatically update with the city's active road closures!

Question

Can I bring a plus-one?

Answer

Due to venue capacity, we can only accommodate guests formally listed on your wedding invitation. If you received a plus-one, it will say "and Guest" on your envelope.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

The dress code is formal attire. We love you in your casual wear, but we kindly ask that you leave your jeans and sneakers at home for our big day!

Question

Will the event be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Both ceremony and reception will be inside!

Question

What should I do if I can't make it?

Answer

You will be dearly missed! If you cannot attend, please let us know as soon as possible by RSVPing "No" so we can plan accordingly.

Question

What type of food and drink will be served?

Answer

We will be serving a buffet-style dinner during the reception, alongside a full cash bar. There will be free beer and seltzers during the cocktail hour, 5-6 pm.

Question

I have dietary restrictions. How can I let you know?

Answer

Please indicate any allergies or dietary restrictions (gluten-free, vegan, etc.) directly in the RSVP section of this website, which will pop up once the actual wedding invites have been sent out.

Question

Are children welcome?

Answer

Yes, absolutely! We love your little ones and cannot wait to celebrate with your entire family.

Question

Will high chairs or booster seats be provided?

Answer

We're thrilled to celebrate with all the children in our lives! Unfortunately, our venue is unable to provide high chairs, and the tight spacing around our dining tables prevents us from accommodating booster seats on the venue's chairs. If your child isn't able to sit safely and independently in a standard adult chair, we welcome these alternatives: - Sitting on a parent's lap during dinner - Remaining safely in a personal car seat - Bringing a personal, freestanding high chair from home (as long as it doesn't require attachment to a venue chair) Please let us know if you have any questions!

Question

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Answer

We are having an "unplugged ceremony." We kindly ask that you turn off all phones and cameras until the reception. We promise to share our professional photos with you later!
