We're getting married!

They say "it happens when you least expect it," and for us, that couldn't be more true. After years of singleness—both of us holding on to hope and trusting in God's goodness—our paths finally crossed...on a dating app called Hinge. It was Andrea's adventurous spirit shining through in a photo of her shooting a gun, and Jordan's adorable snapshots with his nieces and nephew that marked the beginning of a 'match' on April 21st, 2024. We had our first date on May 2nd, 2024 in Brookings, serendipitously on Jordan's parents' 37th wedding anniversary. Conversation flowed effortlessly and the evening was filled with laughter as we got to learn about each other. From that moment on, we became each other's best friend. Despite the 1.5-hour distance between us, we committed to making time for one another, treasuring weekends together filled with quality time, family visits, meaningful conversations, and of course—plenty of good food. Being together has felt like finding a home we didn’t know we were missing. There’s a comfort, a safety, and a joy in our relationship that makes the phrase "when you know, you know" ring so true. Then came May 10th, 2025—a day we’ll never forget. While enjoying a walk at the Terry Redlin Art Center in Watertown with Jordan’s family (including cute kids to keep Andrea delightfully distracted), Jordan gently led the way toward a white gazebo. It was beautifully decorated with flowers, candles, and large scrabble tiles that read: "Andrea Marry Me." With tears streaming, Andrea said "yes" as Jordan knelt to ask the big question with a custom-designed ring—including a diamond from Andrea’s grandma’s wedding set. It was heartfelt, meaningful, and absolutely perfect. To top it off, both of our families—Andrea’s even surprising us from around the corner—were there to celebrate with hugs and a dinner at Maverick’s. Now, with hearts full of excitement and gratitude, we are thrilled to wed on December 6th, 2025. We look forward to starting this new chapter of our lives hand in hand, surrounded by the love and support of family and friends. We can't wait to celebrate with all of you, sharing in the joy of God's love story that continues to unfold.
