We're Getting Married!

We decided on the Wesley Chapel at the Clover Hill Village as the venue for the wedding ceremony. One of the oldest churches in the county, Wesley Chapel was built in 1828 and remained in use until 1939. It was moved to Clover Hill Village in April 1991 and the chapel has its original pews, podium, communion rail and oil burning chandeliers. We believe that the Wesley Chapel will provide us with the small, country wedding atmosphere in which we desire, while meeting Paul's requirements of having a church wedding! Our ceremony will be a traditional Christian ceremony, complete with traditional vows, readings of the Gospel, prayers and blessings. Or, as Paul would say, a wedding done right! The Clover Hill Village is a six acre living history village that was created by the Appomattox County Historical Society over a period of years beginning in 1991. Some of the buildings are local historic buildings that were moved from their original locations and reconstructed on the site. Other buildings are reproductions of actual buildings or representations of buildings for the period. Clover Hill Village is located at 5747 River Ridge Road, Appomattox, VA 24522, a mile off of Highway 24, approximately three miles east of U.S. 460 and the town of Appomattox. The best part about a wedding is the reception right? Well, at least for the guests this generally rings true! And what better way to celebrate than with some darn fine classic country grub! We're talking good old slow smoked BBQ and all the fixin's! Join us after the ceremony for some amazing food and fun - the reception will be held at the Appomattox Inn and Suites.
