Having met through mutual friends, we ended up at the same functions many of times. A year and a half after first meeting, we finally spent some time talking at a game night with our friends and completely hit it off. We quickly learned how much we had in common and had our first official date a couple nights later. We've been attached at the hip since and the rest is history <3
Chris completely blew the proposal out of the park (no pun intended). We had been planning our trip to NYC for months and I was so excited to show him all my favorite spots. Leading up to it, Chris was nonchalant about our trip, so I was pretty surprised by what he had planned. We spent our first morning getting bagels and doing some sightseeing on our way to Central Park – my absolute favorite spot in the city. While walking through the park, Chris was adamant about finding some bridge he had heard about.. according to him it had an awesome backdrop of the city that he wanted to get pictures of with his new phone. I didn’t think anything of it at the time. We found the bridge and sure enough, it was an amazing view. We walked off the path down to the pond to get some pictures of the backdrop when Chris spotted some girls headed our way. He walked up to the path, leaving me by the pond to go ask them to take a few pictures of us – little did I know he was quickly filling them in on his plan. We started snapping some pictures when Chris turned me to face him and got down on one knee to ask me to marry him. The girls taking our pictures, along with people on the bridge started cheering for us and it was so exciting! Looking back on the day, it all made sense. His nervousness in the morning that I didn't catch on to, his needing to wear a particular coat, and his determination to find this specific bridge. He put so much thought into planning such a special day! The rest of our afternoon was filled with all kinds of surprises that Chris had planned and that was only the start of our amazing vacation.
We can't wait to celebrate our special day with our closest family and friends!
