Jasmine: The way we align, there’s no telling how God would have brought you in my life but, for now I’ll just thank my mom for her bringing furniture to my college dorm room and saying “oh he’s cute, you should get his number” when he left— embarrassing then, cute now—he wouldn’t have helped us bring my shelf upstairs or overhear my mom and come back to my room, telling me his name. A couple weeks later, he wrote on the dry erase board on my door and asked to hang out in the dorm lounge for a first date... 7 years later, he's still my favorite forever date. Aaron: I walked outside on my way to the store then, I stopped when I saw my future fiancé and her mom pulling a bookshelf out the car- I didn't know if they needed help or not but, I thought I should help them... so, we carried the bookshelf up to her dorm room. Which was 3 floors directly above me. As I was leaving, her mom mentioned that I was handsome so, I doubled back just to tell them my name and to see Jazz one more time. I saw her 2 weeks later and the rest is history...
On July 7, 2020, Aaron told me to get ready for a surprise date. He drove to us to the corner store to pick up Champagne, went to my favorite sub spot and then, to edible arrangments. (I should’ve known something was up then lol) Afterwards, he took me to our old stomping grounds— Eastern Michigan Campus, where we had a beautiful picnic. Something we always bonded over and enjoyed. After we ate, he popped the bottle of champgane and told me to check the picnic basket for “something”. I looked and saw a small box in the corner of the basket and as soon as I could wrap my head around it and turn around, he was already on one knee!! After professing his love for me over the last (then) 7 years, I yelled “YES!!” and the tears came inmediately after! Here’s to forever 🍾✨
