Things To Do

Sanford is a small town with a manageable downtown area. We spent a weekend there and always found plenty of free parking in the downtown area. We hope you enjoy your visit! Our recommendations below were some of the highlights from our weekend there. If you are looking for an area closer to Raleigh, we recommend the Apex or Holly Spring areas as halfway points between Raleigh and the wedding site (about 25 minutes from each).

Sanford Antique Mall

118 South Moore Street, Sanford, NC 27330

We spent about 2 hours perusing the store. They have an incredible amount of vintage items - from nostalgic houseware items of times past, to collectible print items (e.g magazines, books, comics). The store is connected to a coffee shop and diner, so you can walk around while you sip on a beverage. We walked out with a Speedy Gonzales 1973 Pepsi Collector Glass.

Saladang Thai Kitchen

121 Chatham Street, Sanford, NC 27330

Delicious Thai food! We ate there a week after their opening and enjoyed both the Pineapple Fried Rice and the Basil Stir-fry with Beef.

Big Bloomers Flower Farm

275 Pressly Foushee Road, Sanford, NC 27330

We spent about 90 minutes enjoying their variety of home-grown potted plants. Each plant has a written description and scientific name, so it's easy to get lost learning about plants!

Hugger Mugger Brewing Company

229 Wicker Street, Sanford, NC 27330

Excellent beer and ample seating at this brewery! Highly recommend you stop by to enjoy a drink and their selection of board games. We particularly enjoyed playing Wavelength while sipping on an Eye of the Fiber sour and a Saison Wendigo.

For all the days along the way
