You could say they "met" at their friend Mike's apartment one night in October. They both went to the same high school, but never talked to each other. Spencer was just planning on a normal night out with Kensley, and then William walked in. They hung out the entire night, but the VERY next day he had to leave for South Africa. Spencer remembers telling Kensley "I can't believe I met this amazing guy and he leaves the country the very next day!" That is when she got a Facebook message from William saying he wished they would've met before he had to leave. They continued to talk through Facebook until he came back home, that is when he asked Spencer to be his girlfriend, on April fools day! William of course had to leave again and their relationship grew even through the long distance.

As you know William has been in Australia, so Spencer was coming to visit him for a couple of months. Right before she left for Sydney, Will told her that they were going on a trip to Bali with a few friends. Of course Spencer was ecstatic! On their first day there they had planned a huge day with multiple stops throughout. Their first stop was at Pura Tirta Empul water temple, then they went to Mount Batur, where they climbed to the top of the volcano. The next stop was Spencer’s favorite spot, The Bali Swings! The Bali Swings have been on her bucket list since before William told her they were going. When they got there they got to try different types of coffee and teas, and then decided to go walk around and look at the different "nests" and that’s when they saw the one that is heart shaped. After Spencer took a few pictures of a couple with them it was Spencer and William’s turn. Spencer walked up to the top to stand in the middle of the heart, and when she turned to see if Will was behind her, that's when she saw him down on one knee, and he asked "will you marry me". Spencer of course said YES!
