We first met while working at a ski resort in Park City, UT. Spencer was a groomer on the overnight shift, driving a snowcat and grooming the ski runs, while Taylor was a snow reporter, often having to call Spencer over the resort radio for an update on snow conditions. After a few years as friendly co-workers, we ran into each other one night at the local ski bum watering hole. Between 21 oz. schooners of Pabst Blue Ribbon, $3 cheeseburgers, and an arcade game called Big Buck Hunter, something clicked. We began to see each other more often and had our first date at a summer concert in Salt Lake City.
This past fall, we both had our hands full with our ski resort's Opening Day in Crested Butte, CO. Spencer was in the middle of the hectic snowmaking season and Taylor was responsible for the resort's kick-off events. Despite our busy day, we still made plans to meet at the chairlift for a few victory laps. At the top of the lift, Spencer dropped to a knee on his Telemark skis and Taylor, after realizing he wasn't just showing off his free heel, happily accepted! At the same time, our friends on Ski Patrol witnessed the proposal and made a resort-wide announcement over all staff radios. When we reached the bottom of the mountain after making our first turns of the season together, we were greeted with congratulations from all of our co-workers.
