Long Story Made Short

Highschool Sweethearts

We met in middle school. I (Tashina) had no special feelings for him for a long time but we quickly became great friends and talked often shooting hoops together and so on. Little did I know that all this was part of his plan to get me to fall in love with him ;). His plan began to work and I began to see Spencer as more than just a friend around my junior year of highschool. After leaving him behind and going to Bible college I remember realizing that there was just no one that I felt more comfortable with and able to be myself with than Spencer Jones. He joined me at college and our friendship began to grow. After my sophomore year (his freshman) year he asked me to be his girlfriend and I excitedly said yes. We've been dating ever since! He is truly my best friend and I am so blessed to have a man like him🥰

The Proposal

February 1, 2020

I had originally suspected that it would be this particular weekend but several remarks from my mom and sister (Sofia) suggested that it was not. I finally gave up all hope and decided not to worry about it anymore and just enjoy the date. Spencer gave a couple comments about what he wanted to happen at our proposal that helped throw me off the trail as well. It was supposed to be a picture date to help Spencer learn more about his camera so we headed to a couple spots with beautiful scenery. First stop was Lake Hennessy. When we arrived I thought to myself, too bad he isn’t proposing this would be the perfect spot, as I pushed my hopes all the way down once more. He asked Sofia to take our picture on the dock and we headed out. When we reached the end of the dock he asked me if I wanted to see the video he had made for his video production class in college, I said “sure” and he handed me the phone and took a step behind me. As the video began I quickly realized that it was not for his class it was a beautiful collage of photos of us telling our story. I began to cry. At the end of the video was the question I had been dying to hear. I turned around to see Spencer on one knee; he said some amazing things and then asked me to marry him!! I said I would love to and he slipped the ring on my finger. ❤️
