We both spent many blissful hours relaxing at the Point and walking the free, waterfront Lake Shore Trail. We like the Point so much that we got engaged there! If you check it out, we recommend lunch at our favorite restaurant in Hyde Park, Strings Ramen.
Whenever we ventured to another neighborhood for date night, it was usually Chinatown. There's a lot of shopping, dining, and treats to be had here. Our personal favorite combo was Daifuku Ramen with a drink from DaBoba for dessert. Plus, you'll only be one Red Line stop away from the White Sox stadium - we're Sox fans in this house.
Lots of cities have world-class zoos, but not many have them free to the public. We went here on one of our first dates and never got tired of returning.
If you're a night owl and an avant-garde theatre fan, check out our favorite improv group in Chicago. They put on a show every Friday and Saturday at 10:30 PM.
If you're a night owl who prefers old-school showmanship, we highly recommend you check out the Signature Show at the Chicago Magic Lounge. It was our favorite splurge on a night out and runs every Saturday at 10 PM.
This one is a bit of a hike, but if you have a car and just want to spend your non-wedding time chilling, this Korean-style bathhouse is the spot for you. Men & women are separated in the wet sauna but can relax in any of the dozen-or-so specialty dry saunas together. There's no better spot in Chicagoland to soak away an afternoon.
