Spencer and Michelle met through mutual friends, Ashley and Buddy in 2006. While they never did make a connection, when Ashley told Spencer Michelle was single in 2020 he jumped at the opportunity to ask her out. Spencer immediately texted Michelle to see if they could go out. Spencer drove up to Huntington Beach and they ended up going to Lazy Dog for dinner because with Covid being so fresh there was not much open. They had a great time laughing and catching up. They enjoyed each other's company so much that they decided to go out again a couple days later. The second date is where things got interesting. Michelle has a beautiful dog named Martie, who is also a little bit mischievous, but very sweet. Martie decided that during their dinner at Big Catch she was getting bored and wanted to get out of there and go home. She then proceeded to escape out of her leash and sprint across Beach Blvd back to her house in the middle of traffic. Spencer then bolted out of his chair and ran into the middle of traffic to swoop her up. He would soon realize this would be a normal trend for young Martie. He also realized at that time he really enjoyed spending time with Michelle and her crazy dog. Spencer realized he had found his true soul mate though when they took a trip up to Los Alamos and went wine tasting for a weekend. He loved everything about being with her. They had the same sense of humor, and he found out she was really easy to talk to. Michelle also felt the strong connection on that trip. There was also no doubt about Spencer's physical attraction to Michelle. The combination of physical and emotional connection for Spencer was a key sign that he wanted to take things to the next level. After months of dating and him driving up from San Diego to Huntington Beach multiple times a week he finally expressed his love for Michelle. She in turn did the same and, as they say, the rest is history.
