Meet the friends and family who will be walking down the aisle with us

Morgan McVey

Maid of Honor

Morgan and Megan have been best friends since approximately 2005, when Morgan made the executive decision to fight against some mean girls in their third-grade class and win Megan’s friendship for the rest of forever. They have been by each other’s sides for elementary school field trips to Science Central, middle school lock ins, several proms, college breaks, matching tattoos, countless trips between Indiana and Ohio, and give or take eight yearly road trips (and counting). It has been one of the greatest gifts of Megan’s life to get to grow up side-by-side with such an incredible, brave, kind, and funny woman as a best friend. Morgan has proved to be one of Megan’s greatest support systems through many life moments and with almost 20 years of friendship under their belts, Megan couldn’t imagine celebrating this huge day without Morgan by her side. Just one more exiting adventure they will get to support each through!

Tyler Yoder

Best Man

Spencer and Tyler have known each other since the day Spencer was born. Much of their childhood was spent playing games in which a brother five years older had a massive advantage. Some of these games included Power Rangers, WWE, and soccer. As you can probably tell, Spencer did not have a great winning record in any of these. While growing up they played numerous videos games — even sharing a World of Warcraft account in which Spencer still remembers vividly the first character Tyler made for him. One of Spencer’s best childhood memories was when Tyler would come home from college, and they would get to play Halo 3 online together for hours on end. Tyler was exceptional at competitive games, as well as online smack talk, which Spencer still uses to this day. Since growing up, they still play video games together and love to just talk about funny things they’ve watched and have Tyler show Spencer a new drink that always ends up being better then the last one he showed him. Spencer values how much Tyler knows about pretty much any topic and always has a good time just learning about this new thing Tyler heard about on a podcast or news article. Spencer is proud that he gets to share this day with one of his best friends and be able to hopefully get him a drink for a change.

Gabriel Schillereff

Man of Honor

Megan met Gabriel in 2000 – when he was born – and she immediately began to throw a temper tantrum because she wanted him to play with her RIGHT NOW, despite the fact that he was, you know… a newborn. Gabriel has spent almost every moment of his life since as one of Megan’s best friends. Their dad, Steve, would tell stories of Megan carrying baby Gabriel around the house under her arm, like he was her babydoll. Lucky for Gabriel, as he has grown into the wonderful young man he is today, the two have found other ways to spend time together. They took a trip to Italy together in 2022, which mostly consisted of Megan telling Gabriel she wanted gelato and Gabriel agreeing to get her gelato if she would just be quiet about it. They also share a love for Disney movies, Harry Potter, Elton John, messing with their younger brother Logan, Phil Collins, and (maybe above all else) The Road to El Dorado. Gabriel has made several trips out to Columbus these past few years to stay with Megan and Spencer, visit Meeko and Lui (the couple's cats), and explore the Great State of Ohio – and Megan and Spencer are currently trying to convince him to move out to Columbus permanently after he graduates from his Masters program!

Logan Schillereff

Groomsman

Megan and Logan also met when Logan was born – hands down the cutest baby anyone has ever seen. And even though Logan is *technically* in Spencer’s party, Megan just wanted to share that Logan is absolutely one of her favorite people in the world. With a very stereotypical younger brother energy, he assures Megan that while he believes that he is one of her best friends, he’s not guaranteeing anything the other way around. Despite this sibling slander, Logan is still one of the sweetest, kindest and most thoughtful brothers Megan could ask for. He also has a wicked sense of humor and holds the record for some of the best one-liners their family has ever experienced. As an example of Logan’s sense of humor, when Spencer went to ask for Megan’s brothers’ blessings, Logan quickly cut him off and said yes, only to come back later in the day and ask, “What would you have even done if I had said no? Cuz I might want to change my answer. Actually, I say no. What now?" (Spencer did end up telling Logan he was going to move forward with marrying Megan anyway). Despite "revoking" his blessing, Logan has still been wonderfully sweet and supportive of Megan and Spencer getting married. To put it in his words, “At your ages, what else do you have to look forward to anyway?”

Meg Yoder

Bridesmaid

Meg and Megan (we know) met because Meg is married to Spencer’s older brother and best man, Tyler (what are the odds). But despite the unlucky-matching-names-situation, Meg welcomed Megan into the family circle with open arms. Meg always made sure that Megan felt included, would catch her up on the insider family stories, and shared many *quality* tales of Spencer from when Meg first met him almost 10 years prior. Meg did such an incredible job of making Megan feel right at home with Spencer’s family. And has even played a role in helping to bring Megan’s family into the circle too! When Spencer decided it was time to get the engagement ring, Meg helped get Megan’s size, style and stone preferences and even talked to Megan’s mom, Lori, on the phone so that she could be involved with the process from a state away. Aside from Meg being one of the kindest, most welcoming people the two have ever met, Spencer and Megan also owe Meg a debt of gratitude for providing them with their ring bearer, little Hank Yoder. Megan cannot wait to have Meg as her official sister in law!

Cameron Yoder

Groomsman

Spencer and Cameron met each other in kindergarten in which they bonded about having the same last name. Ironically, there were also about 20 other Yoders in the elementary school they went to, but the damage had already been done, Spencer and Cameron had become best friends. Much of their younger years were spent playing video games, and with Cameron showing Spencer way cooler games then he had as a kid — which ended up being a bigger problem for Spencer’s mother. Spencer also remembers driving to Acers of Fun with Cameron and playing Mario Kart while in the car. Throughout highschool, Spencer and Cameron played tennis and even managed to convince the school to host a videogame tournament that both Spencer and Cameron put on. Now that Spencer and Cameron live only a state away, it’s exciting to get to visit each other’s cities and hangout for a fun weekend. Spencer is very happy to be able to spend one of his most important days with one of his most important friends.

Katie Kuzmishin-Mast

Bridesmaid

Katie was one of the first of Spencer’s friends that Megan ever met – and one of the main reasons she knew this Spencer person was a good guy. There was no way that some loser could EVER be friends with someone as cool as Katie. Katie and Megan immediately hit it off by bonding not only about the oddness of their respective partners – Katie is married to groomsman Alec – but by sharing their love of books, their love of some very specific authors, and their love of true crime. As resident girlfriend (now wife) Katie welcomed Megan both into Spencer’s very male-dominated friend group and into her and Alec’s home with open arms, delicious meals, warm blankets on the couch, and all sorts of survival tips for football season. And F1 season. And Wii sports. And Mario Kart. The two have shared some very beautiful conversations about books, some very unhinged conversations about their men, and Megan is so excited to join Katie in the Cool Wives of Mennonite Men club.

Alec Kuzmishin-Mast

Groomsman

Spencer and Alec met in elementary school and really bonded when Spencer moved to the same church as Alec. Alec’s house was the hot spot for hangouts, as the basement was practically designed for indoor soccer, basketball, baseball, and pretty much any other sport you can imagine. This resulted in a few injuries, and only one slightly sliced finger. Spending the night at Alec’s still is one of Spencer’s favorite memories from childhood and they especially loved playing videogames that involved one or both parties getting maybe a little too heated. Throughout highschool Alec and Spencer both played tennis and played some of the longest matches known in the school’s history. During and after college, Alec and Spencer have continued to be best friends as they play video games online and still to this day, get a little heated. Spencer is extremely excited to be able to share this day with one of his best friends, all while hoping that everyone’s fingers stay intact.

Kaytlyn Bell

Bridesmaid

Kaytlyn and Megan first encountered each other in an Early British Literature class during their sophomore year at Ball State University where Megan made such a strong impression on Kaytlyn that she actually made it into Kaytlyn’s class notes for that day. Which read, more or less, as follows: Megan! Stop picking at your nails! However, Megan and Kaytlyn didn’t become close friends until their junior year of college (when Megan quit picking at her nails) and when they were in the same group for their capstone course on apocalyptic literature. Working together to edit research papers soon grew into a beautiful friendship full of late-night conversations, Wednesday night hang outs, and discussions about everything from who Homer really was, to if cats can secretly understand human language and just refuse to speak to us (they both think yes). As an extension of their friendship, Kaytlyn has adopted Gabriel (or maybe Gabe adopted her – unclear) and every now and again the two of them will unite against Megan, mostly when Megan tries to do something in DnD which is absolutely illegal. Megan is incredibly blessed to have such a wonderful friend that she can share all her passions with. Even though they live in different states, the two continue to spend time together in a book club they share with another Ball state alum (shoutout Olivia Hershman!) where they meet to talk about life, books, and everything in between.

Cameron Stutzman

Groomsman

Spencer and Cameron met at some time that Spencer doesn’t even remember. Spencer has been told it was when they were toddlers, but the verdict is still out on the specifics. The important part is that Spencer and Cameron have been best friends for a long time. Whether it was riding scooters, swimming in Cameron’s pool, or even asking his mom for a haircut, there was little that Cameron and Spencer didn’t do together. They were such good friends in fact, that they were only sat together one year in fourth grade and did such little listening, that they were moved to opposite ends of the room and later put in different classes for the rest of elementary school. Spencer remembers making SpongeBob jokes, watching Avatar, and going on family vacations with Cameron’s family as some of his best times as a kid. Spencer and Cameron played a lot of sports together: soccer, tennis, baseball, and basketball. All of which Cameron was exceptionally better at than Spencer, so he was a great partner during practice. Now that Cameron and Spencer have grown up, they still talk and hangout occasionally, but Spencer is hoping that he can convince Cameron to live in Columbus so that they can tell SpongeBob jokes to each other in person again. Spencer is honored to have one of his best friends here to celebrate his special day and make more memories in the process.

Josie Polizzotto

Bridesmaid

Megan and Josie first met as coworkers at Ball State. And after working in catering together they eventually became roommates. While they lived together, they would share their walks to class, cook meals together, enjoy a movie night, coach each other through breakups, and make ice cream runs to DQ despite someone (not Megan) being lactose intolerant and then someone (not Megan) would have some regrets. Megan and Josie have always been able to talk about life, share their love of literature (Mr. Darcy supremacy 4 life), bond over their similar taste in men, and just cackle laugh at so many things in this world. Josie is one of the few people who can regularly (and easily) double Megan over in laughter with just a few words and Megan has spent more than one of their hangouts on the floor laughing until she cries. Josie has made several trips to see Megan is Columbus and Megan is always amazed at how easy it is for the two of them to just have a good time doing anything at all. This was true while they lived together and remains the case today even though they live in different states. The two have recently started a book club together which gives them even more exciting and wonderful things to talk about. Besides being hilarious, Josie is also an incredibly sweet and thoughtful friend, and Megan is so excited to get to celebrate this special day with her.

Nick Ciccotelli

Groomsman

Spencer and Nick met in college; Spencer remembers meeting Nick for the first time during his sophomore year. Spencer had wanted to make more friends on the floor that he was a part of for the new school year and happened to see that one of the doors in the hall was open. After walking inside Spencer saw a group of guys all playing video games and Nick asked, “you play?” and after Spencer replied with a resounding “oh yeah”, Nick said “awesome, you’re already part of the friend group!” Nick and Spencer have shared lots of college memories, one of the most memorable was taking organic chemistry together and both questioning their brain functionality after several very rough midterms. College was spent taking strolls to get Wendy’s four for fours, and late-night Taco Bell runs that usually took way longer then they should have. Nick and Spencer still to this day play videogames online together and discuss how awful Spencer is at managing his fantasy football team. Spencer is ecstatic that he gets to have his friend Nick here with him for his wedding day and have some better cuisine than what they had in college.
