We’re Making it Official

1/5/18 We first met at O2 Fitness in Wake Forest. He came into the gym as I was working at the time at front desk. It was a Thursday night and I knew the next day I had plans to hangout with my friend, Kristin, whos mom, Lisa Twomey basically set us up. Spencer checked into the gym as he always does lol and he looked at me and said “Hey are you margot?” And I said “yeah thats me” and he said “ i just want to introduce myself, I’m Spencer, I think we are doing that escape room and dinner all together tomorrow night.” I said “oh sweet, enjoy your workout!” 1/6/18 I didn’t think anything of this get together with the Twomeys and the Martins and the next day I showed up late to the dinner and my seat was of course right across from Spencers. Towards the end of the night, spencer asks for my phone number and the rest is history. We hung out a bunch, he would stick flowers in my jeep doors. Fast forward to April 20th 2018, While eating dinner at Tupelo Honey in downtown Raleigh and after a couple old fashioneds, Spencer asked me to be his girlfriend.

We were at the beach (topsail beach, surf city) Spencers parents (the beautiful and wonderful Pam and Randy) have a beach house there. We were there with a group friends, it was friday June 25th 2021 and it was sort of an overcast day at the beach. Rain was going in and out a bit so we were out on the beach with all of our friends, I was wearing a bikini top and jean shorts (thank god i had shorts on) and my good friend, Jordan, brought her nice camera and wanted to take group pics of all of us (which is normal for her) so I did not think anything of it and she had Spencer and I walk out to make sure it would look good and Spencer kept trying to push me to one side and I kept trying to go to the other side and he whispered in my ear that he loved me. I looked away at my friends to see what was taking them so long and next thing i knew i looked over to my left and Spence was down on one knee asking me to marry him. I LOST it. I freaked out, I couldn’t believe it was happening, I kept saying “are you for real?” And after like a minute of him on his knee, i finally said YES! And then we partied all day and all weekend with our friends. It was awesome. Best day ever.
