We met through Spencer's roommate, Donald Osborn, who is our mutual friend. Spencer began hanging out with Madalyn's friend group junior year of college. We became fast friends and spent most nights texting or going on drives together. One day, Spencer's car broke down and Madalyn offered to drive him to get it fixed. We took a walk by a river near what is now our church, but was Spencer's church at the time. We then went to lunch at a local Mexican restaurant. We began talking on December 16th, 2022. We talked all through winter break that year and Spencer came to visit Madalyn for New Year's Eve 2022-2023. We officially began dating on January 12, 2023 after our first official date. We then were engaged on December 3rd, 2023.
