Lydia and I met chatting through Bumble and after a little witty banter (mostly on her part), we scheduled a time to meet. She had a friends birthday in the city over the coming weekend and suggested we meet for dinner beforehand. To play it cool and seem like I wasn't going out of my way (over an hour), I said I was already going to be in the city hanging with friends. We met in Grand Central and I spotted her immediately as she turned the corner of platform 26. The butterflies I had flew away and came back all at once. Her electrifiying green eyes and bright smile gave me a delightful tingle up my spine. Before we set out for the restaurant, I brought her to the whispering corners in Grand Central where the unique architectural design allows you to speak as softly as a whisper in one corner and be heard across the great hall to the other side. I don't recall what I said but I remember looking across at her as the sound hit her ears and saw Lydia's famous look of innocence and wonder like a child gets when they see their favorite superhero at disney world. "Nicely done, Spencer," I thought as I approached, "great start." We walked a few blocks to the restaurant and although the food was terrible, the conversation was electric. We sat at the table for hours until finally, she looked at the time and said she had to go to the party. She paused briefly then asked, "do you want to come with me?" In my mind I thought "oh yeah, hell yeah! ooo she likes you!" but again, I played it cool and replied "that would be lovely." Two subway rides later, we arrive at the party. What I thought would be a small, casual birthday celebration at a bar, was actually a private room with 30 girls - sorority girls nonetheless! I guess I made out alright though because we ended the night where we started; in Grand Central... except this time with a kiss.
