Our Story

Before Huntley and I knew each other, we both knew that we wanted to attend Clemson University. Clemson has always been important to us, but little did we know just how special our time there would be. Huntley and I were both involved in Greek Life at Clemson where we developed many mutual friends. Although, we did not officially meet until my sophomore year (Huntley’s junior year) when we were invited to spend time on Pawley’s Island for Spring Break. We enjoyed our time at Pawley’s together and returned to Clemson as new friends. We would see each other around Clemson at tailgates and functions and enjoyed each other’s friendship. Fast forward to August of 2014. We were invited yet again to go to the beach with mutual friends. This time we would spend time on Edisto Island. We spent the trip going on the boat, swimming in the creek, and hanging out on the sandbars. As we spent more time together, we quickly became inseparable and returned to Clemson that school year as a couple. After graduation, Huntley and I spent much of our relationship long distance. I moved back home to Lexington to start a job teaching elementary school and Huntley pursued a career in sales. He worked hard for several years and started to save up for a ring. On October 17, 2020, our story would come full circle as Huntley told me we had big plans to attend a Clemson tailgate party that day. He told me to put on some orange, get ready for brunch in Columbia and then we would head to the tailgate at a friend’s house. On the way to brunch he said that we had some time to kill. We went to take a walk by the river in Columbia. Little did I know that this would be the most special walk yet! At the end of the Riverwalk Huntley had a hidden photographer, got down on one knee, and the rest is history!
