Watch the small, private planes take off at this cool hidden gem in Battle Creek. We chose this location for our rehearsal dinner in honor of our 5 years of long distance, the numerous flights we took to see each other, and because they have a great burger.
Brick and Brine is a family favorite and it's right in the Radisson Hotel! Utilizing a brick-fired oven to create eye-catching entrees, brined proteins to impart flavor and tenderness, and pickled local ingredients, Brick and Brine will feature a menu of seasonal delights and familiar flavors with a twist. I don't think we've ordered anything we haven't liked yet but we love the fancy shmancy drink menu and the fried chicken.
The Holland Michigan location of this pub was the first bar Chloe ever snuck into. She did it on her sister's wedding day. This Battle Creek location newly opened up right by Chloe's Kellogg office. Sadly, she no longer gets carded when she comes with her co-workers for happy hour.
Kitchen Proper is best described as a “Rustic Urban Eatery.” The focus is on fresh, scratch made to order cuisine. The menu changes seasonally with dishes such as pasta, fresh fish, hand-cut steaks, unique salads and rotating entrees. There are nightly chalkboard features that showcase seasonal ingredients and the Chef’s creativity.
Every summer, Bells releases their seasonal tap of Oberon beer. In Kalamazoo, we treat that day like a true holiday, worthy of skipping work for. Beyond drinks, Bells offers plenty of food options. We recommend sitting outside in their garden.
HopCat originated in West Michigan and we gladly claim it as ours. If we're in the mood for a burger and fries, this is our go-to spot. Chloe and her dad have to order an OG Cosmik Fries to just themselves because they aren't good at sharing.
If you're one of our friends that lives somewhere right on the ocean, known for their sushi, then ignore this reco. (Looking at you Rowe family in Florida) To everyone else, we highly recommend this place if you're in the mood for sushi. Our favorite roll is called the "blue mango."
The Cove is located on the lake directly next to the one Mom & Dad are on (where our Farewell Brunch is being hosted). If it's a nice day, we recommend sitting outside on their long patio looking out at the lake.
