Things To Do

Chicago has been our home since we met here in 2017, and we love exploring all the different neighborhoods! To help make your trip even more special, we’ve put together a list of our favorite restaurants, coffee shops, bars, and activities. We hope you enjoy these spots as much as we do!

Bridgeport

This is where we met, at The Illinois Institute of Technology. Restaurants: Mars Brewing Company – A local brewery with great beer and a fun atmosphere. Maria’s Packaged Goods and Community Bar – A laid-back spot with craft cocktails and Caitie's favorite house made ginger beer. Fabulous Freddies – Be sure to join in on our tradition of "Freddy Fridays" for some delicious strawberry mango Italian ice!

The Loop

Activities: The Art Institute of Chicago – Explore incredible works of art and architecture. Chicago Cultural Center – Experience free exhibitions and stunning interiors. Millennium Park – Take a stroll through one of Chicago’s most iconic parks, also where you will find the iconic "Chicago Bean" Museum Campus – One of our favorite spots for a skyline view at night. Restaurants: The Exchange – Good food in a gorgeous atrium space. Yolk – Perfect for a classic breakfast or brunch. Cindy’s Rooftop – Enjoy drinks with a breathtaking view of Millennium Park. London House – Head to the rooftop bar for amazing views of the city skyline.

River North

Activities: Architecture Boat Tour – See Chicago’s impressive architecture from the river. Shopping on Michigan Avenue (The Magnificent Mile) – Shop ‘til you drop on one of the city's most famous streets. Riverwalk – Relax or take a walk along the beautiful Chicago River. Restaurants: Quarintinos – An Italian favorite for us and friends. Howl at the Moon – A lively bar with dueling pianos.

West Loop

West Loop is the place to be if you’re here to eat and drink! Restaurants: Rosemary – A Mediterranean gem with a cozy vibe. Federales – Don’t forget to take an ice shot! Aba – Delicious Mediterranean dishes in a chic setting. Trivoli Tavern – A neighborhood favorite for great food and drinks. Au Cheval – Our favorite burger spot. Time Out Market – An easy option for a big group, lots of options all in one spot. Good Night Johnny Boy – For a drink and dancing. Tilly Bagel Shop - If Jersey people need a bagel, these sourdough bagels are approved!

Lincoln Park

Activities: Lincoln Park (People’s Gas Education Pavilion) – Take a quiet stroll around the pond with a great view of the city. Shopping on Armitage Avenue – A charming street with boutiques and local shops. Wrightwood 659 – An exhibition space in a Tadao Ando building. Restaurants: Geja’s Cafe – An intimate fondue experience perfect for a romantic night out.

Wicker Park

Explore quirky boutiques, vintage/thrift stores, and unique coffee shops in this trendy neighborhood. Restaurants: Bang Bang Pie Shop – The perfect spot for a sweet treat. Tortello – Delicious handmade pasta.

Logan Square

Discover independent boutiques, vintage/thrift stores, and cozy coffee shops that make Logan Square so unique. Restaurants: The Whale – For some comfort food with a great ambiance. Daisies – Farm-to-table dining at its best. Easy Does It – A cozy neighborhood bar and eatery. Slippery Slope – A fun bar with a laid-back vibe.
