Megan and Spencer met at their church in Kansas City, IgniteKC, where Megan sang in the worship band and Spencer helped run the sound. Megan admittedly had a big crush on Spencer from the beginning, even going so far as to "strategically" place herself near him for prayer to hold his hand.
Megan and Spencer had both agreed that they wanted to graduate from the University of Arkansas prior to engagement. Spencer had graduated in December of 2018 and with Megan's graduation approaching in December of 2019, she thought a proposal could be coming. Little did she know, Spencer already purchased a ring months prior and had a plan in place. With Megan's love for all things Christmas, Spencer thought it would be perfect to ask for her hand during the Christmas season. With that in mind, he planned a day full of Christmas activities for the two of them to enjoy and after secretly asking Megan's roommate, and now bridesmaid, to be there and capture photos, everything was ready. While surrounded by Christmas trees at a local farm, Spencer explained that he didn't really bring Megan out there just to look at the trees, rather that he brought her out there to ask her to spend the rest of their lives together as husband and wife.
