At the start of October 2018, Corey found herself at her brother's football game. Her brother was playing JV Football for HCA but it wasn't his quarterback skills that caught her eye. Yep, you guessed it, it was the young good-looking coach he had, Kelly. During the game, Corey was able to capture one of her brother's scoring touchdown passes on video and uploaded it to her Snapchat story. Corey was startled to see she had a Snapchat from the one and only KELLY NELMS after the game. Kelly had seen the story she uploaded and it just so happened that his dad's head was in the bottom corner and, of course, he had to comment on it! After talking about the game and where we were in our lives, Corey managed to cleverly get his number in order to continue the conversation and the rest is history...

After Corey had all but planned what would unknowingly be her engagement photoshoot, Kelly decided it would be the perfect time to pop the question. After Corey figured out the date and location of their photoshoot with her friend, Samantha, Kelly reached out to her to plan the proposal behind her back. During the shoot, Samantha sent Michaela to the car to "get a lense filter" because "the sun was too bright". Michaela was actually on operation ring retrieval. They were somehow able to make the ring swap to Kelly while they were still shooting. Kelly proceeded to get down on one knee while Samantha captured the whole thing on camera. Corey was absolutely surprised and had no idea it was coming from the photoshoot that she had planned!
