Our Big day is finally happening!

Dave and Essence first met on the campus of University of North Texas. They were both presidents of our student organizations, Dedicated Men and Queen In You, and both were in committed relationships at the time so they only spoke in a professional manner. Oddly enough, Essence was friends with majority of the people that were in Dave's inner circle, but they never seemed to be at the same event at the same time. Dave would see Essence with her line sisters when he would support one of his close friends, now groomsman, Jimmy. Anytime Jimmy was DJing, Essence would ask him to hold her things (purse, keys, etc.) so she could stroll freely, yet they still never crossed paths. Fast forward to 2020, Dave and Essence got reconnected through....lets just say social media (IYKYK) lol and they hit it off immediately. We're talking late night convos til 2am (mind you, you know Essence is normally sleep by 10 so the fact that she was up yapping on the phone was already a sign). Dave would drive from Fort Worth ALL the way to Mckinney (1 hr+ drive) just to sit outside her house and spend time with her (It was still Covid days and Ms. Snow wasn't having no strangers in the house) . Dave suggested ice cream be their first date (not even realizing that he found a way straight to Essence's heart, she loves a good sweet treat). Fast forward a couple years, and Essence and Dave unfortunately had to take a break. They knew how much they loved each other, but there was work to do spiritually, emotionally, and mentally before they could thrive as ONE. Now I know you're probably thinking they could have left that part out...but NO. Full transparency, sometimes you have to step back, work on yourself and put God at the CENTER before stepping into what God has planned for you. Now that break was a solid 2 months NO CONTACT and whew it felt like FOREVER to the both of them. Essence still stayed in contact with Mrs. Kisha and she invited Essence over early in the morning to do a yoga flow. Thinking Dave would be at his apartment, she had no intention on us running into each other but God had other plans. The moment Essence and Dave saw each other again, it felt like a spark of energy that was reignited in both of them. We're talking an energy so strong that only God has the power to give us. That SURE feeling like, this is exactly where they needed to be. Fast forward a few months, they move in with Ms. Snow for about 6 months until she moves on to her next journey. On the FIRST day they are finally living in the house by themselves...Essence takes a pregnancy test and BOOM its positive. I mean they didn't even get a full 24 hours to themselves before DB came and flipped the world, as they knew it, upside down. Fast forward to June 8th (their dating anniversary) Dave takes Essence to one of her favorite places (the Lifetime yoga studio) and proposed. THE best day of their lives up until that point. Dave wrote a song, just for Essence, performed it for her, AND took her to her favorite restaurant (Monarch) in downtown Dallas. Fast forward 6 weeks, they get married Downtown Dallas with the skyline as the view. We know, we know, if you were not there they are SORRY. They wanted something quick and intimate without having to go to the court house. On the bright side, they were ALWAYS thinking of the family, so much so they decided to have THIS wedding. Most of you know how the rest of the story goes...Thank you for taking time to read their story and thank you for wanting to be there for them on their big day.
