In a world where a single swipe can change everything, that’s exactly what happened for two young singles in November of 2021. What started as a simple match on a dating app quickly turned into much more than either of them bargained for: a COVID quarantine. Yes, that’s right—Pat gave Megan COVID on their first date, and the rest is history. Luckily, that first date went well! Within a week of meeting, they were cooking a full Thanksgiving dinner, decorating a Christmas tree, and quietly realizing that something special was unfolding. The next four years were filled with adventures—weekends at the cottage, trips with friends, vacations near and far, and continuing to discover new things about each other. In October of 2024, Pat and Megan traveled to Maui. On the very first day, surrounded by breathtaking mountain views and crystal-blue water at a hillside distillery, Pat suggested they take another photo. When Megan turned around, she found him on one knee, holding a ring and asking her to spend forever with him. Her answer was an easy “Yes,” and the rest of the trip was spent celebrating their future together in paradise. In June of 2025, Megan and Pat purchased their first home. Just a few months later, they hosted both of their families for Thanksgiving—a holiday that has become incredibly special to them. The added bonus this time? Everyone could actually taste the meal. They’ve been by each other’s side since that very first date and are so excited to continue choosing each other, every day, for years to come.
