We're getting married!

Sarah and Geoff both hail from sunny Los Angeles. Theirs was a meeting of the stars, or in the stars, from the start. Sarah was born in Los Angeles and grew up in her hometown of Orange, CA with her beloved family. She enjoyed the waves of Laguna Beach and the shopping of South Coast Plaza while attending UC Irvine. Afterwards, she then moved back to Los Angeles for many—too many—years of training at UCLA Medical School. They were tough but formative years of her life, meeting many of her most treasured friends. For a year after completing the Internal Medicine residency and Gastroenterology fellowship at UCLA, she cared for patients in Koreatown—where her own family first immigrated to from Korea. In June 2022, with no one left to date and nothing left to eat west of the 405, she finally fulfilled her dream of exploring life beyond OC/LA. A sneaking suspicion told her that she would find her future in San Francisco... Geoff and his four siblings, including his twin brother, Greg, grew up in the piney village of La Cañada Flintridge, CA. (Geoff is a bleeding heart democrat, and it is a deep dark secret that he actually spent most of his youth in Plano, TX). His family spent summers traveling to Baja California—a magical slice of Mexican paradise with the world’s best fish tacos (i.e. El Viejo). After a brief stint “away from California,” Geoff hurried back to Occidental College in LA, where he spent most of his time off campus working in homeless services in LA and Pasadena. Deeply adventurous, Geoff spent his early 20’s in Los Angeles, Miami, and San Francisco, before finally moving to New York. Infatuated with Manhattan and its skyscrapers since age five, it's no wonder he ended up in real estate, researching and helping to build his beloved city. In 2022, however, a new opportunity at BlackRock brought him back to San Francisco, for a second time. These days, love is just one swipe away, and on June 30, 2022 Sarah and Geoff "matched." Geoff was in town to find a new apartment in SF, while Sarah was just settling into her new city. The two met up on a brisk San Francisco summer day at Peacekeeper, now a family favorite tequila bar. Sarah was swept away by Geoff’s wit, humor, and energy. Geoff was enchanted by Sarah's infectious kindness, sense of humor, and generosity of spirit. Well, the rest is history and a wonderful relationship blossomed and matured over bottles of orange wine, dim sum, and tennis. Most importantly, they shared values, goals, and dreams of a future together.  On April 1, 2023, at his treasured home-away-from-home, Local, on Sullivan Street in SoHo, Geoff asked Sarah to be his wife. Sarah said “Yes!” Happy April Fool’s Day! But the love is and was no joke. Soon after getting engaged (though premeditated far earlier), Geoff and Sarah decided to take jobs and move back to New York— a beautiful new chapter and beautiful new family ahead.
