We met at church in 2017, Joshua had been there for about a year when I first started visiting and eventually became a member as well. At first we both helped in our outreach and we never really spoke to each other. Over time we started speaking just at church and then out of church. I honestly thought it was weird when he first called, and at some point I realized I missed if he didn't call. We continued to work together at the outreach, but we also started working together in youth then in bus ministry, and finally in children ministry. Over the years we became better friends, and have watched and helped each other grow. We have people who get to say "I told you so" because over the years we have taken turns being so confident that we would never be more than friends. In January of 2019 he told me he liked me for the first time, In February of 2019 we decided to become an official couple, and we've only grown more fond of each other since then!

Joshua worked very hard and planned very well for the proposal. He was able to get some of our family there, and he had people in our church involved to help make it even more special. At the end of our church service our Pastor asked me to come sit in the front row and he began to explain that we were coming into a busy time and they wanted to show their appreciation, so they had a presentation from the children. The children came in holding poster board with letters to spell “Will you marry me?” I looked to my left and Joshua was on one knee and of course.. I said yes! After, one of the kids handed me peonies, my favorite flower! It was actually caught on the Facebook live feed at the end of the service if you want to view it!
