We both graduated from Amador Valley High School in 2008, but met for the first time in 2013 at Sunshine Saloon (it was a big graduating class!). We talked to each other for most of that evening and exchanged phone numbers by the end of the night. Our first date was a few days later on November 30, 2013. JR picked Jillian up and took her to Lokanta Mediterranean Grill in downtown Pleasanton. We walked in without a reservation but were immediately seated at a nice table in the back because JR knew the manager (a very noticeable flex on his part). We also went to a couple of holiday parties that evening and played a romantic game of beer pong in someone's garage to the Bay Area classic, Gas Pedal by Sage the Gemini. It was kismet. The next few dates included exploring the Oakland Lake Merritt area where Jillian was living, and spending time around Pleasanton. We dated for the next year and half before moving in together in July of 2015. Over the last five years we’ve been growing our careers, and spending time together by going to concerts, traveling and eating copious amounts of smoked meat that JR prepares on his Traeger grill. We got engaged on August 31, 2018 while on a trip to Seattle to see a Foo Fighters concert. We're looking forward to celebrating our wedding with family and friends!
