Travel Note
New York is one of the most accessible cities in the US with its extensive public transit system. The Brooklyn Botanic Gardens are easily reached by subway (2, 3, 4, 5) and taxi/Uber. We recommend not driving/renting a car as parking is generally sparse and alternate travel is available. Given the number of hotels and AirBnBs available, we've chosen not to block rooms. Hotels frequently run deals, we encourage you to compare on Kayak and Expedia. If you choose to stay in Manhattan, we recommend staying below 42nd street to minimize travel. Below, please find our general recommendations;
Flight
LGA and JFK provide the easiest transportation to hotels in Brooklyn. For those choosing to stay in Manhattan, EWR can also be an attractive alternative. From LGA - Taxis are by far the easiest and most time efficient transportation method. From JFK - Depending on your destination, the Airtrain to the subway can be faster than a car. Check Google Maps for the quickest option. From EWR - NJ Transit / PATH trains will generally beat cars given traffic into/out of the city. Trains will get into NYC at 42 St. / Penn Station, where the A/C/E and 2/3 trains and taxis will take you to most destinations. Be sure to check the train schedules prior to buying tickets.
