If you’re looking to explore outside the city, Multnomah Falls is a classic Oregon spot that’s definitely worth the drive. It’s about 30–45 minutes from Portland, and the views are stunning—especially in the fall. The waterfall is huge (like, 620 feet tall!) and there’s an easy paved path to walk up to the famous bridge. It can be misty and chilly though, so bring a raincoat and some layers—you’ll be glad you did.
This is a fun outdoor mall nearby. It’s got a mix of stores, places to eat, and even a fancy movie theater if you feel like kicking back for a bit. Perfect for a little downtime during the weekend!
If you’re in the mood for a walk in the woods without leaving the city, Forest Park is perfect. It’s just a 10-minute drive from downtown Portland and has miles of peaceful trails to explore. It’s especially pretty in October with all the fall colors and that classic Pacific Northwest mist. Wildwood Trail is a good one to check out, but you really can’t go wrong—just pick a path and wander.
Neskowin is a quiet little beach town on the Oregon coast, and it’s super special to us—it’s where Ethan asked Nicole to be his girlfriend and where he later proposed. It’s peaceful, scenic, and one of our favorite places to escape to. It’s about a 2-hour drive from Portland, so if you’re up for a little adventure while you’re in town, it’s a beautiful spot to explore. Just be sure to dress warm and bring a raincoat—coastal Oregon in the fall can be chilly and wet, but totally worth it.
