It all started because we had chemistry... literally. During our sophomore year of high school, Tiah sat at the front of the class, and I just so happened to be sitting right behind her. Our real connection began when I had to grade her half-written science fair project (which was supposed to be done). I reached out to her via social media, asking how in the world I was supposed to grade something so unfinished (I ended up giving her an A). From there, we began texting and flirting in and out of class, which probably didn’t help Tiah's chemistry grade. Eventually, I got the nerve to ask Tiah out, and she had no idea what was to come (this was, in fact, her first date ever). While my parents were out of state, I, 15 at the time and unlicensed, had the brilliant idea to pick her up from a party 20 minutes away and bring her back to my house. This was my first time driving alone. When I pulled up to the party in my Jeep and Tiah's friends came out to see me, she was shocked. We went back to my house and picked out a movie, which seemed spontaneous, but I had already chosen it beforehand—Hitch with Will Smith. Let's just say there was a spark that night that has burned bright ever since. Seven years later, we are finally tying the knot with endless stories and memories behind us, and many more to come.
