Yes! Our wedding will be in Mexico, so all guests traveling internationally will need a valid passport.
Adults: Apply at least 4–5 months before the wedding for standard processing, or 3 months if using expedited service. Children under 16: Same timeline applies; each child needs their own passport. ** Important: Passports should be valid for AT LEAST 6 months after your travel dates. Extra Tips: - Check your passport’s expiration now to avoid last-minute stress. - If you’ve lost a passport or it’s damaged, replacement can take additional time—apply as soon as possible. - Applying as a family? Submit applications and photos together to streamline the process.
The closest airport is Mérida International Airport (MID). For additional flight options, you can also fly into Cancún International Airport (CUN) and take a shuttle or rental car to Mérida. The "Travel" tab has more information.
Not necessarily! Many of Mérida’s attractions, restaurants, and shops are walkable or reachable via taxis and rideshares. If you plan on exploring beaches or cenotes outside the city, a rental car can be convenient.
Mérida is considered one of the safest cities in Mexico! Standard travel precautions apply.
Credit cards are widely accepted at hotels, restaurants, and larger shops, but we recommend carrying some pesos for markets and smaller vendors.
Please refer to your invitation for details about plus-one policy.
Due to venue capacity limits, whether children are invited depends on each family’s invitation. Please refer to your invitation or contact us if you have any questions about bringing your little ones.
Absolutely! Please let us know in advance if you have any dietary restrictions (vegetarian, gluten-free, etc.), and we’ll ensure there are suitable options for you.
Our wedding is a formal celebration, so we recommend cocktail or dressy attire for the ceremony and reception. October in Mérida is warm during the day (highs in the upper 80s°F / low 30s°C) but can cool slightly in the evening, so lightweight, breathable fabrics are best. Gentlemen may opt for a suit or dress pants with a button-up shirt, and ladies for a cocktail dress or elegant jumpsuit.
There’s so much to explore! Wander the Plaza Grande, stroll down Paseo de Montejo, visit Mayan ruins like Chichén Itzá or Uxmal, swim in nearby cenotes, or relax at the coast in Progreso or Celestún (flamingo tours highly recommended!). Check out the "Things to Do" tab for more recommendations!
Mérida is full of delicious options for every taste and budget! Be sure to try traditional Yucatecan dishes like cochinita pibil, panuchos, papadzules, and fresh ceviche. For a cozy, local experience, check out Cheen Cocina Yucateca (MX$8–14 per person) or enjoy tacos at Wayan’e. For a mid-to-high-end dining experience, Micaela Mar & Leña offers a modern twist on local flavors (MX$22–39 per person for main courses). Rooftop dining with a view is also a must at Picheta. Don’t forget to try some local sweets or sorbets at Dulcería Colón! For more in-depth recommendations, please look at the bottom of the "Travel" tab.
Mid-October in Mérida is warm and tropical, with daytime highs typically around 85–90°F (29–32°C) and cooler evenings in the 70s°F (21–24°C). Humidity is moderate, and occasional short showers are possible, so light, breathable fabrics and comfortable shoes are recommended. Don’t forget sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat if you’ll be outdoors!
