As our wedding is on a Thursday, a pre wedding visit to Rocky Mountain National Park is borderline a must. The park is much quieter during the week, and the views are unbeatable. An hour and 10 minute drive from Fort Collins, you could drive up and over the highest contiguous road in the United States, peaking out at 12,183 feet above sea level, getting spectacular views without leaving the comfort of your car, or do the hike shown in this photo which nets you Nymph Lake, Dream Lake, and Emerald lake covering just about 2 miles round trip to the spot this photo was taken at Dream Lake, or 3.3 miles for the full shebang. It is among the most beautiful and accessible hikes in the park, and is particularly spectacular at sunset, though be sure to bring headlamps for the way back if you choose this time frame! For anyone looking to get a bit more puckered on an adventure, please reach out to Zeke or the groom's family for recommendations!
This is a wonderful nearby state park with ample hiking, biking, and fishing opportunities.
A minimal hike, where you can see the whole Front Range as well as the Fort Collins Reservoir! Climbing options are available as well!
Looking to escape into nature, but not quite keen on making the drive to Estes Park? Drive through the Poudre canyon! A beautiful canyon that starts 15 minutes west of Fort Collins. Take the road as far as you wish, and try hiking Mount McConnel Trail, fishing the Poudre River for trout, or Rafting!
Try catching a show at Mishawaka if you see one you like! This was one of our favorite venues that we've been to and it's right on the Poudre River.
