we're getting married!

Trav and Sophie first started talking on Tinder back in 2019, when Trav offered to travel over to Burnie and make Sophie a delicious dinner (Still hands down the best carbonara Sophie has ever had!) From that point on they were spending more and more time together between Devonport and Burnie. Until Sophie travelled to Melbourne for the Eminem concert, upon returning Trav realised he wanted to lock her down and asked her to be his girlfriend. The couple then became inseparable and shortly after moved in together. Our relationship never has and never will be perfect however the amount of growth they have managed to achieve together is just a testament to that fact that they are meant for each other.

Our proposal story is nothing glamorous or over the top, but it’s filled with love, and it’s very “us.” When on holiday, travelling around our beautiful home state in a camper van Trav and Sophie made the decision to travel to Mt William to climb the mountain and enjoy the beautiful surrounding scenery. While climbing to the top Trav was paranoid Sophie had seen the ring box in his back pocket when in fact Sophie was just struggling to catch her breath (yes she really is that unfit..) Once reaching the top they were enjoying the view when Trav got down on one knee and asked Sophie to spend the rest of her life with him. Sophie was in such shock that she stood there for what felt like forever with her jaw on the ground until Trav started to freak out and assume the answer was no.. After many tears and a few "wtf i can't believe it" the couple decided to climb down the mountain all the while talking about the special moment and future plans for their wedding. They then had to drive 70+ km's on some very sketchy roads back to phone reception so they could start to tell all there friends and family the happy news! (turns out most of them already knew Travs plan..) The couple finished there evening with the most fantastic dinner in St Helens, The Wharf Restaurant will now always be a special place for Trav and Sophie.
