Sophie and Thomas’s story begins in the heart of Eugene, Oregon—Go Ducks! It was the fall of 2016, and Sophie was 18, visiting the University of Oregon as a prospective student. Thomas was 20 and already enrolled there—a friend of a friend, though Sophie definitely knew who he was before that trip. They met through mutual friends, and from the moment they started talking, something just clicked. It wasn’t dramatic or over-the-top—just easy, fun, and natural. They spent that weekend laughing, walking around campus, and getting to know each other. And while Sophie came to Eugene to check out the school, she left with something even better: a feeling that this place, and this person, might become a big part of her future. Spoiler alert: she chose UO. A few months later, Sophie officially became a Duck, and from there, everything just seemed to fall into place. The two shared late-night study sessions, tailgates, and way too much Dutch Bros. They grew up together in all the best ways—through the ups, the downs, and all the little moments in between. They both graduated in 2020 (even though COVID had other plans for a real ceremony), and while there wasn’t a big celebration back then, their wedding now feels like the celebration they’ve been waiting for. Sophie and Thomas are so excited to finally bring all their favorite people together and start this next chapter, side by side, just as they have since college.
