Our Next Adventure

We met at Oregon State University around 2015 but didn't get to know each other until matching on a dating site October 2022. Sam was living with my sister's future husband at the time and all I was told is "This is my roommate Sam. He likes to run." We were matched on eHarmony years later and learned that love is priceless....well actually love does have a monthly fee on eHarmony, but you get the point.

We first met at Oregon State University in 2015. I was living with the future husband of Sophie's sister at the time. I came home from a run one day and Sophie was over for physics tutoring. The introduction was brief with "this is Sophie". Years later, Sophie and I were matched on eHarmony. On our first date in October 2022 I thought Sophie was just looking for a friend to go on adventures with. After a several more dates we started to realize something more special developing from our friendship, and that was love.

It was the evening of September 29th and we decided to go to the Old Spaghetti Factory on the waterfront in Portland and then go for a walk along the waterfront, like we had on our first "formal" date. We got done with dinner and made our way across the Tilikum crossing bridge. A slight rain had set in, the city lights were reflecting off the water. Sam paused half way back across the bridge, both of us looking out across the water it stopped raining, when he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! (I said yes!)

*Sophie has Sam's old shelf from his childhood but didn't know it until they started dating. *Sophie's middle initials spell SAM *Blue is both Sophie and Sam's favorite color. *Sam was roommates with the husband of Sophie's sister in college. *Sam is almost a foot taller than Sophie. *Sophie and Sam both drive Toyota SUVs. *Sophie and Sam are Oregon State University alumni.

Many people may not know we initially called each other adventure buddies when we started dating due to the fact most of our dates and time spent together involved some type of adventure. We've done hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, learning to mountain bike, kayaking, 5ks, and traveling to name a few adventures. We look forward to celebrating the start to our next adventure with you at our wedding.
