FAQs

Question

Why Germany?

Answer

As many of you know, Sophie’s father, Torsten, is from Germany and moved to the United States in 1996. Sophie and her brother, Connor, are proud dual citizens of both the U.S. and Germany. This part of the country holds a very special place in the Krings heart. Robert's family also has German ancestry on his dad's side. It means so much to celebrate here with all of you. We are deeply grateful for everyone making the trip and leaning in to the experience.

Question

Weather?

Answer

This is a transitional time of year, so it is hard to say what the weather will be like for our weekend. On average, it is mid 60s during the day for this time of year. You can definitely expect cool evenings, so bring a jacket. We encourage you to check the local weather as we approach wedding week to ensure you are prepared. Manifest sunshine and blue skies for us please!

Question

Do I need to learn German?

Answer

Nein! Most people in the area speak English. However, it can't hurt to download duolingo and learn some of the basics. Here's a good phrase to know - "Ein Bier, bitte."

Question

Considering an Airbnb?

Answer

If you are considering booking an Airbnb, please be mindful of which side of the river it is on. We would only suggest renting an Airbnb that is on the western side of the river (same side as the wedding venue and guest accommodations). We don't want anyone needing a last minute ferry ride!

Question

Important Venue Note

Answer

Please note there is another castle named Burg Rheinstein just down the road from our venue, Burg Reichenstein. While we will have transportation for wedding events covered, we wanted to bring this to everyone's attention!
