One of our favorite first hikes to do in Jackson. We recommend starting this hike earlier in the morning before the trailhead fills up as it is one of the busiest hikes in the park. (We like to hike up to Inspiration Point.) There is a boat shuttle that takes you across the lake if you chose not to hike the 3-mile path. If you are wanting just to view the lake and have lunch in the park, Jenny Lake Lodge is the perfect place! (Reservations are typically required for lunch.)
This is another one of our favorite easy-to-moderate hikes that is part of the Laurance S. Rockefeller Preserve. Parking is limited so we recommend starting this hike early. The trail loops around Phelps Lake, but if you are feeling adventurous, you can take the trail up to Death Canyon for an amazing day hike.
If you are looking for a great morning workout or a hike in town, this is the one for you! It is a short, but strenuous, hike up to the top of Snow King Mountain, and is totally worth it! From the top, you get amazing views of the town, Elk Refuge, and the Tetons.
Located just north of Jenny Lake, this loop is our favorite place to take a short, easy hike, pack a lunch, and jump in the lake! Gorgeous views of the Tetons are reflected in the lake and one of the most popular in the park.
This hike is a bit longer and more strenuous than the rest. You park at the Lupine Meadows trailhead and start your ascent. You are likely to see a variety of wildlife along this route. It is a challenging climb up to the top, but these two mountain lakes are beautiful and completely worth the effort!
Our favorite whitewater rafting outfitter!
