Let's Party!

In the summer of 2017, Luke and Sophie first crossed paths as staff volunteers at the National Youth Leadership Training, a Boy Scout leadership course. Assigned to the same team, they quickly found themselves working side by side, braving the chaos of rowdy children and the wilderness's unexpected challenges—including an encounter with a mountain lion! Despite the hurdles, they became a formidable duo, their teamwork earning them the coveted spirit stick. What began as camaraderie soon evolved into a steadfast friendship that neither could have foreseen transforming into something more. On Valentine’s Day, 2018, Luke made a seemingly small gesture that would set their story into motion: he sent Sophie a dog video. This would be the first of many, a subtle but meaningful way to connect. After a bit of convincing on Sophie’s part, they decided to meet outside of their usual group context. Their first official date? McDonald’s. Over McFlurries, french fries, and a sweet tea, they found a special kind of magic, and on March 14, 2018, they officially began dating. From that point on, Luke and Sophie embarked on a journey filled with adventures both big and small. Their dates ranged from enjoying sliders and fries at Burntzilla, sipping boba at Tastea, and wandering the wonder-filled streets of Disneyland. Even on the busiest days, they found moments of joy, often sharing car picnics amidst their bustling college schedules at Biola, CSUF, and CSULB. Over time, their bond only deepened. They supported each other through Sophie’s career transitions from nursing to speech-language pathology, and Luke’s long hours of shooting, filming, editing, and set-building. Despite the hurdles of hectic schedules and long-distance stretches between California and Florida, they remained unwavering in their love, overcoming every challenge with grace and determination. Now, after six incredible years of growth, laughter, and love, Luke and Sophie are embarking on their greatest adventure yet—marriage. We are thrilled to invite you to celebrate this momentous occasion, a testament to their enduring loyalty and love.
