Our journey began at Dartmouth in January 2020 with a little luck from a random number generator. We were randomly assigned to the same group project for one of our Neuroscience courses. One night, after working on the project, Liam invited Sophie to the dining hall which just happened to be decorated for Valentine’s Day! We hit it off, talking about everything from science to skiing and horses. Our first official date was at Skinny Pancake in Hanover (a restaurant which later became a COVID casualty, R.I.P.) and soon after, we started seeing each other every day to chat and study together. A few months later, COVID hit and Dartmouth shut down, but nothing could sidetrack our growing connection. We spent time in Miami and Colorado, getting a crash course on each other’s homes and families. After graduation, we became frequent flyers! Liam completed medical school at Dartmouth, while Sophie moved to California and later Cambridge to pursue research. Sophie was accepted to WashU Medical School, and in March 2025, Liam matched as a resident in St. Louis. Just one month later, we got engaged at Blea Tarn in England’s beautiful Lake District. We are thrilled to celebrate in Miami with our families and the friends we’ve made along the way. Your love and support mean the world to us. See you in Miami!
