Our Story

From college sweethearts to world travellers, home owners, dog parents, and soon to be newlyweds - our journey has been full of love, laughter, chaos and more than a few unforgettable memories!

They say love finds you when you least expect it. For us, it found is at college. Liam was the shy rugby player and Sophie the confident private school girl who claimed she was not interested, although it was clear she was. After weeks of messaging and Liam finally working up the courage to ask, we had our first date in Sophie’s outhouse. We talked and laughed into the early hours and from that night on we knew something special had begun. Even if it still took Liam three months and four slightly random questions before he finally found the courage to officially ask Sophie to be his girlfriend. Our relationship quickly filled with adventures big and small. There have been countless evenings sharing giant pizzas, regular trips to Mallorca, camping escapes, nights out that turn into mornings out and many incredible holidays to Mauritius, Maldives, Thailand, South Africa and Barbados - thanks to Helen and Clive! In 2018 we took our first big trip together, travelling Europe for six weeks. We learned how to rely on each other, how to handle arguments and how to scrape by with very little money to our name! Not everything went to plan. Sophie, the “responsible” one, managed to lose the folder containing absolutely everything: passports, train tickets, souvenirs and more. We had just stepped off a train in a tiny French village where no one spoke English. With Google Translate, Liam’s questionable French and a healthy dose of British naivety, we somehow managed to cross the border to Barcelona, buy emergency passports and carry on as if nothing had happened. What could have been a disaster became one of our favourite stories. In 2020 Sophie secured a placement at The Volkswagen Group, and with Pronto the horse and Janet the trusty Fiat Punto in tow, we moved to Milton Keynes. We spent ten months living in an annex on a farm owned by an Italian family. This was when our relationship shifted from “Are you coming to my house tonight?” to “What time are you home for tea?” and was the start of a new chapter. In 2023 we reserved our first home, on the plot of land which Sophie had looked out at from her bedroom window for 23 years. We watched it slowly transform from an empty piece of land into a place we could call ours. In 2024 we got the keys, and Sophie happily launched into full-scale DIY mode while Liam quietly questioned all his life choices. Ten weeks of painting, drilling and mood boards later, we hosted our first party where we welcomed our friends and family and our new build property truly started to feel like home. In 2025 we welcomed Cooper, our cuddly, mischievous, sock-loving, shoe destroying, attention craving golden retriever puppy. Sophie thought he would be the highlight of the year, until Barbados proved otherwise! Thursday 15th May 2025, after mimosas, padel tennis, and a relaxed day with Helen and Clive, we headed to Lone Star restaurant - a perfect beach front location. Sophie dragged Liam to the beach for a quick photoshoot before the cocktails arrived, not realising she was walking right into the scene Liam had set up for them! As we took photos and watched the sunset Sophie joked that it would be the perfect place for a proposal, not realising what was about to happen. Liam turned to her and, just like he had in 2016, asked four very random questions, before getting down on one knee and asking “Will you marry me?” After years of anticipation of course Sophie said yes! Now, it's August 2025 and we are in the process of planning our dream wedding. We cannot wait to start the next chapter of our lives and are so excited to celebrate it with you all.
