Where should I stay?

Answer

We have room blocks at different hotels. Please check out the travel section. Other hotel recommendations: Hotel Casa Santo Domingo, Villa Bokeh and Casa Encantada. There are also numerous Airbnbs around the city and on the outskirts! We recommend booking these as soon as possible!!

What currency is used?

Answer

The local currency is the Guatemalan Quetzal. There will be many opportunities for you to exchange cash in Antigua, but a credit/debit card works in most places. Keep in mind the exchange rate is $1 USD = 7.3 GTQ. You will need cash if you tour ruins or buy from markets. None of these places accept USD/ cards.

How should I pack?

Answer

During the day it can get pretty hot! I always recommend light layers for the changing temperatures. It is nice to have a jacket on you once the sun goes down. The city is very walkable, most restaurants, shops, and landmarks are within a few blocks of each other so bring comfortable walking shoes! The roads are cobblestone :)
