He was a snowboarder, she was a skier. He was a lifty, she was a ski instructor. The two star-cross'd lovers met over a plate of fried rice at Shanghai Palace on Main Street in Telluride in December of 2013. Sophie had heard about the brave man who had agreed to live in the Gypsy Kingdom house with five crazy, wonderful Telluride women, and when the Gypsy Kingdom ladies told her that Kevin would be joining everyone for a birthday dinner celebration, she bundled up and trekked downtown to meet this guy for herself. As Kevin says, it was "almost" love at first sight, since neither of them believe in that sort of thing. A few weeks later, after a first date at Lifty Prom (an annual celebration of the lift operators), a few runs down the mountain to make sure Kevin could keep up (don't worry, he was a very good snowboarder), and an Infamous Stringdusters concert at the Sheridan Opera House, Kevin asked Sophie to be his girlfriend. She said yes!

Though they loved Telluride, both Kevin and Sophie decided it was time to pursue their respective careers on Colorado's Front Range. They moved to Boulder and then Denver a short time later where Kevin started his career in cannabis and Sophie in outdoor media. They currently live in Denver where they enjoy spending time outdoors and exploring the city.

A week after Kevin graduated with his MBA, Kevin and Sophie left for a long-awaited trip to the Big Island of Hawaii to celebrate. An early morning hike brought them to a secluded black sand beach, and as they sat down on a drift wood log to stick their toes in the sand, Kevin asked Sophie to marry him. After six years together and lifetime of adventures ahead of them, she said yes! Kevin and Sophie can't wait for this next chapter in their lives together, and they're so excited to be celebrating with all of you!
