If you know anything about Army life, you know it can turn on a dime. Jonathan and Sophie didn’t meet thinking the Army would be the thing that brought our lives together, but somehow it did, and once it started moving, it moved fast. Within a short stretch of time, Sophie shifted from active duty to the reserves, Jonathan got picked up for his next career move, and we started packing up for a big transition to North Carolina. It felt like life was changing every week—and in the middle of all the change, we knew one thing was steady: us. So in true “Army timeline” fashion, we chose to do a small, meaningful ceremony (our micro-wedding) with just immediate family and two close friends. It was perfect—exactly what we needed in that season. Now that life has settled a bit, we can finally do what we’ve wanted all along: bring all of our people together in one place and celebrate this marriage the way we dreamed of.
