Bride
James says... Sophie, star of the stage, artistic extraordinaire, and cat worshipper, always has her next spa visit on the brain. Lover of bubble baths, plants, and those orange and strawberry cream chocolates, Sophie will likely be seen seizing the initiative and taking the lead in the first dance.
James
Groom
Sophie says... The groom is a golf extraordinaire, weather geek and devoted cat dad (despite the allergies). He loves 90s dance music, chinese food and a manicured lawn. He's likely to have been responsible for some of the wackier ideas on the wedding day!
Nancy
Bridesmaid
Sophie's hilarious little sister lives in Scotland, so one of the main reasons to get married is to entice her down south for at least a weekend. She loves art, pizza, reality TV and sweetcorn. Most likely to be drinking a cup of tea and getting an early night.
Rob
Best Man
James' best man Rob is a long-time friend from secondary school, and perhaps somewhat unbelievably (given James' Millwall connection), a West Ham fan. Rob is most likely to be seen at the wedding busting out some questionable dance moves to mid-00's indie bangers.
Alice
Bridesmaid
Alice is James' little sister and Sophie's bridesmaid. She's a parent to two feline children and our southeast London neighbour/ catsitter/ fellow Bake Off enthusiast. Most likely to make sure the wedding timings are on track!
Adam
Groomsman
One third of the groomsmen party, Adam has been James' colleague for over nine years. A football fanatic, and with tales of living in New York-aplenty, Adam will most likely be found on the dancefloor at 11:30pm crawling between people's legs, though it may take a few drinks to bring out this move!
Sarah
Bridesmaid
Sarah and Sophie bonded in school over a mutual love of musicals, sausage rolls and Christina Aguilera. Though Sophie no longer eats meat, they are still likely to be harmonising to Can't Hold Us Down over a cocktail.
Husein
Groomsman
Husein first met James in 2014 when he successfully interviewed for a vacancy at the company James worked at. With a passion for lifting weights and skinny black jeans, Husein may be mistaken for a wedding security guard, but rest assured is a gentle giant!
Lucy
Bridesmaid
Lucy and Sophie bonded during their art A-Levels, where they learnt what they needed to learn. They later travelled Asia together where they cheated death multiple times. Most likely to be found on the dance floor, Lucy was also present at Sophie and James' first meeting!
Kerry
Groomsman
Kerry, James' former boss no less, completes the groomsmen party. Owner of Eddie the cavapoo, and lover of a dark rum and ginger beer or ten, Kerry will likely offer you a Jaegerbomb before hitting the dancefloor in the hope of bopping along to some 90's dance classics.
Helen
Mother of the Bride
Sophie's mum loves the finer things in life, and she's one of the kindest and smartest people we know. Most likely to have made her own outfit and headpiece for the wedding, with an elderflower presse in hand!
Alison
Mother of the Groom
Alison is considered by James to be the finest maker of an egg mayonnaise sandwich there’s ever been. Always one to put on a great spread of food and proven to be the hostess with the mostest, Alison is most likely to be seen straightening James’ tie while holding a bottomless glass of prosecco.
Peter
Father of the Bride
Photography fanatic and music lover, Sophie's dad has been there since day one. He has been known to identify different bird calls with alarming accuracy, making Elmley the perfect venue for him to venture off with a pair of binoculars when the wedding gets too emotional.
Paul
Father of the Groom
Paul is James’ older doppleganger and a lover of the great outdoors. When he’s not tending to his garden, he can be found booking his next holiday - rumour has it he’s never been more than a few months without one. Most likely to show zero rhythm on the dancefloor.
