On the first day of our college class, I was in a rush and I arrived twenty minutes late. I walked into class and noticed only one open seat in the room, the seat was next to Sophie. That day the professor assigned group projects and I was assigned to a group with Sophie. At the end of the class, Sophie asked me for my phone number to be able to contact her regarding the project. I was overjoyed with the fact that someone so beautiful would ask for my phone number. That same day, I asked her if she would be interested in working on the project outside of class. Perhaps, at the library or coffee shop. Sophie quickly responded, saying to send her my portion of the project if I was finished. I realized I had misunderstood the situation, but still yearned to get to know her. After we completed the project, I was beginning to think I wouldn’t have the opportunity to get to know her again, but later that night I recieved a message from Sophie! We then began talking to each other, and I asked if I could take her out on a date that weekend. She said yes and I was extremely nervous for our first date. By the end of the evening, I asked Sophie if I could see her out again and she said yes! We continue to talk and get to know each other on a deeper level of understanding. From there, we got our first place together in November of 2024 and we were so happy. One day, Sophie told me she had an opportunity to go to study abroad in Paris, France. I understood that this was a once in a life time opportunity for her to go and study abroad. I was dreading the day she’d leave, but I know that she wanted to explore the world. I drove her to her flight and from there we said our goodbyes and shared a kiss. As I watched her walk to her terminal, I knew I wouldn't see her for a month. The day Sophie left for Paris, I went to buy an engagment ring that day that she saw months prior. While Sophie was in Paris, we kept in touch calling and messeging each other, but I missed her dearly. I counted down the days until I could see her again. On the day of her arrival, I waited for her and I was filled with so much excitement, until I saw her. Sophie and I ran towards one another and embraced. I told her how much I missed her and to never leave me for that long again. The next day, I took Sophie to Lake Ray Hubbard. While we were looking over the water, I got down on one knee and told Sophie take my hand not for just today but for every sunrise we have yet to see.
I remembered when I saw him walk into class…twenty minutes late. I was thinking to myself, “who would walk into class twenty minutes late on the first day of classes?” That day, we had to pick our group for a group project. I just so happen to end up in the same group as Jake. At first, I barely knew him. I just saw him as another group partner. Now as Jake would say, I friend zoned him. However, after we finished the project I had this strange urge to text him. It was like fate. We instantly clicked and he asked me out on our first date. I was extremely nervous. So nervous, that I think I changed my outfit 3 times. After our date, I remember telling my dad about how much I really liked this guy. Before I knew it, I was staying out late at his house because I didn’t want to leave him. In November of 2024, we got our first apartment together. I was so happy to be able to see him everyday. In May of 2025, I had the opportunity to go study abroad in Paris, France. Although I was excited, I hated the thought of being away from Jake for so long. For three weeks, we texted and called as much as we could. I was counting down the days until I was back. On the flight back home, I barely slept because I was so excited to see him. As soon as I landed, I raced through TSA and literally sprinted into his arms. The very next day, he took me to this beautiful lake. From the moment he got down on one knee, I immediately blacked out. I knew he was the one for me the moment he drove me home one night and said I love you. It was meant to be from love and first sight, and I’m so excited to spend the rest of our lives together.
