Somehow, we met through Hinge despite the fact that neither of us has touched any form of social media in years. After chatting on the app for some time, we met at Wiseacre Brewing Company for our first date. We shared a pizza there, and it was obvious that we just clicked right away. We went on two more dates within one week, and we haven't stopped going on dates together ever since.

On a trip with Sophie's family to Lake Lure, North Carolina, we picked a day to steal away from the rest of the family for a hike in Chimney Rock State Park. We walked the trail to Hickory Nut Falls and asked a park ranger to take a photo of us in front of the waterfall. Cullen told her to "just keep taking pictures" before handing her his phone. While the pictures were being taken, Cullen said "Sophie, I want to ask you something" before dropping to one knee and showing her the ring. "Will you marry me?" Sophie said "Oh..." and then, "Yes!" We soaked in the moment at the waterfall before returning to the lake house for a fantastic celebration with the family, and the engagement was on!
