Our story began on a party bus from San Marcos to Lake Travis, headed to one of Zach’s fraternity party barges. I was just two weeks into my freshman year at Texas State, and Zach was beginning his junior year. What started as casual conversations on that bus—laughing, sharing stories, and pointing out the beautiful houses along the lake—turned into hours of effortless connection. Somewhere in the middle of that day, Zach mentioned that his sister was pregnant (who is now Blair—our sweet flower girl, six years old today!) and finally asked me what my plans were for the next weekend. When I told him I was going to ACL, I invited him along. Without hesitation, Zach pulled out his phone and bought his ticket right there on the boat (well… with a little help from his mom’s credit card 😉). That decision changed everything, and from then on, we were inseparable. That ACL weekend turned out to be even more meaningful because Zach met my mom, dad, and sister. It might have been “too soon” by most standards, but it didn’t feel that way at all. There were no nerves, no doubts—just a natural ease that made it clear he was already part of my family. After both graduating from Texas State, we began our next adventure together in North Texas, where we started our careers and built a foundation for the life we dreamed of. Then, in November of 2023, Zach gave me the most beautiful gift of all when he proposed in the Umlauf Sculpture Garden. It’s a place that has been close to my heart since childhood, somewhere I had always dreamed of getting engaged. Standing there, surrounded by the sculptures and memories of my great-grandfather’s artistry, Zach got down on one knee, and my dream became reality. Since that day on Lake Travis, our love has only grown deeper. Together we’ve traveled near and far, danced through countless concerts, and filled our lives with unforgettable moments. Today, we’ve planted our roots in South Austin with our two fur babies, Luna and Mulligan, who make our little family complete. We are so excited to celebrate the next chapter of our love story with all of you—our closest friends and family—who have been part of this journey in one way or another.
