Vivek
Groom
Vivek is a great son, brother, friend and fiance. He works as a management consultant and can be found at the wee hours of the night on conference calls with his international teams. Vivek is a dedicated player on his team the Conquerer's Cricket Club. Sophia and her family can be seen cheering Vivek on at his games. Vivek is a great singer--he was a touring musician in college and is commonly asked to perform for his friends. He is also great at math--he helps Sophia calculate discounts and deals--and he loves physics--he oftentimes gives physics lessons to a resistant-to-learn-physics Sophia. He is a good Indian cook and makes a delicious paratha.
Sophia
Bride
Sophia is dedicated to her friends, family and fiancé. She feels so lucky to share her wedding day with this wonderful wedding party and all of you! Sophia is fond of food—she enjoys trying new restaurants with her most liked cuisines being Italian, Vietnamese and thanks to Vivek, Indian! She loves traveling and exploring new cultures and looks forward to her honeymoon in Bali. Since Covid hindered her ability to travel, she’s been spending more time visiting local outdoor destinations alongside Vivek with her most recent favorite being Bushkill Falls. She is passionate about all things Yoga and loves practicing it and teaching it. Sophia is quite the planner—she has been laser focused on planning a wonderful wedding experience for you all to enjoy!
Leah
Maid of Honor
Leah has been best friend to Sophia since birth. You will likely catch them giggling and dancing together. Leah has been integral to Sophia's support system for life and and this wedding. She has two siberian huskies--Penelope and Bowie (named after David Bowie). Leah is ultra creative--an artist, art teacher and she even painted Sophia and Vivek's powder room. Also, Sophia and Vivek named one of their koi fish after Leah (aka machli-ah).
Nika
Bridesmaid
Nika and Sophia's friendship budded in Paris, Sophia's favorite city in the entire world. They studied abroad together galivanting through the City of Lights eating, dancing and laughing incessantly. Since then, Sophia and Nika have done the same in San Diego where Nika lived for a couple of years, NYC, where she lives now and PA, where Nika is from. Nika is quite the fashionista and Sophia and her always go on a shopping trip (or two) when they visit each other. She has been married to the love of her life, Chris, for 5 years and is proud dog mom to Ziggy (named after Ziggy Marley). She loves to meet new people and her 30th birthday is September 30th (4 days after the wedding) so stop and say hi and happy birthday to Nika at the wedding!
Aditi
Bridesmaid
Aditi is like a sister to Vivek--he knows she will always be there to support him. She is a doctor and wife of best man, Aaditya. Aditi has traveled the US with Aaditya and Vivek to destinations like Yosemite National Park. Aditi initially lived in NYC when she arrived in the US, but now her and her husband currently reside just outside of San Francisco. Aditi is foodie through and through and is always scouting out a delicious cup of coffee. She is truly a wonderful friend and a whole lot of fun!
Aaditya
Best Man
Aaditya and Vivek were in the same class at IIM, came over to the US for work and are employed by the same company. They have spent time traveling and enjoying food all over the U.S. Aaditya is the lucky husband of bridesmaid, Aditi. Aaditya has a great, big personality and is always down for a good time!
Nick
Groomsman
Nick is Sophia's middle brother. He is a bicycle enthusiast--he works in a bike shop and bikes whenever he gets the chance with his longest distance biking being more than 100 miles in one day. He lives in Lancaster with his partner Shannon and is a proud cat dad to Penelope. Nick is also a talented musician--give him any instrument and he can play it. Sophia appreciates hilarious, random phone calls from Nick.
Miles
Groomsman
Miles is Sophia's twin brother. Yes, they share a special bond as twins (one time they brought home the same book home from book fair when they shopped for it separately). Miles is a gardener by profession and loves all things outdoors. He is also a talented artist and even painted Sophia and Vivek's house. Miles loves music and has recently gotten into baking--his strawberry rhubarb pie was a huge hit. Miles, aka Smiles, can usually be seen wearing a smile. :)
Mom/Susan
Mother of the Bride
Susan is often questioned if she is Sophia's sister, but don't be mistaken, she is her mom. Susan has been happily married to Sophia's father for 35 years and very bravely mothered her four children that were born within 3-1/2 years. All her online IDs are "fournomore." She loves flowers, coffee and being active--her and Sophia take barre class together once a week. Susan also enjoys shopping--she has passed this passion down to Sophia (they are a lethal combo in Target).
Dad/Jim
Father of the Bride
Jim is loving husband to Susan and loving father to Alex, Nick, Miles and Sophia. Sophia is a daddy's girl and cherishes her time with him. During COVID they grocery shopped every Saturday together. Jim is a huge fan of basketball, gardening and mainly of cooking (and eating). If Sophia could choose her last meal on Earth, she would choose Jim's eggs benedict. A skilled handyman, Jim has contributed to many improvements in Sophia and Vivek's home. Jim is a top rated hugger so be sure to get yours from him at the wedding!
Alex
Officiant
Alex is Sophia's eldest brother and the minister for the nuptials! Sophia and Vivek are so thankful he will be leading us on this special day! He is an avid sports fan and very good with numbers. He tutored Sophia in Math (god bless him). Alex has helped Sophia and Vivek move not once, but twice! He recently married his wife Tori in June--congratulations to them! Alex is a skilled conversationalist and gives out big hugs and kisses if anyone needs them on wedding day.
