We think downtown Annapolis is great but our favorite area in Annapolis to walk around and explore is in Eastport, but we are a little biased because the wedding venue is in the Eastport area of Annapolis! If you are downtown Annapolis, we suggest taking the water taxi over to Eastport to walk around and grab a bite to eat and drink! The best spot to catch the water taxi is at the "City Dock" pick up spot and the best drop off to get to the best spots in Eastport is the "Chart House" drop off.
If you are exploring downtown Eastport, we highly recommend checking out Bread and Butter Kitchen. Our favorite thing to do on the weekends is take Oakley for a walk and enjoy breakfast here right on the water! Our favorite thing to get is their scone of the weekend because it is always 10/10!
Black Market Bakers is our favorite "to-go" breakfast place in Annapolis. We usually walk Oakley here on the weekends and grab some breakfast and sit outside on the marina watching the boats go in and out. All of their pastries and coffees are good but our favorite things to get are their bacon egg and cheese on a croissant or their chicken salad sandwich with bacon on a croissant!
If you are hanging out downtown in the morning and don't want a traditional sit-down breakfast, we highly recommend Sofi's Crepes for breakfast. You can sit and eat outside, or you can take it to-go and eat it while walking the streets of Annapolis! This is right near the entrance to the Naval Academy where you can take a tour or walk around the campus. Our favorite crepe is the Kevin Bacon!
Miss Shirley's Cafe is another great brunch spot near the hotel blocks. It is one of the most popular breakfast spots in Annapolis. Our favorite thing to get here is the pancakes because they are some of the best pancakes we have ever had with fun unique flavors!
Oakley's favorite coffee shop in town is Oscar's Coffee! This coffee shop is outside on the water and is very dog friendly. Every pup gets a whipped cream pup cup with your order, so Oakley is always very excited to go on a walk here. If you are standing out looking at the water and look to your right, you will see our wedding venue!
Boatyard Bar and Grill is one of our favorite restaurants in Annapolis. For us it is tied for first place as our favorite crab cake in town! They do not take reservations so try to get their early but if there is a wait you can hang out at the bar and get a Maryland crush or go next door to Forward Brewery to have a beer!
The other crab cake that is tied for first place is at Full on Craft Eats and Drinks! While this restaurant is a bit outside of the downtown area, we highly recommend their crab cakes, and the best part is that it is also the cheapest crab cake sandwich that we have had in Maryland! The crab cake grilled cheese is our favorite thing on the menu! They also make a great dirty martini with stuffed blue cheese olives!
Vin 909 Wine Cafe was one of the first restaurants we tried in Annapolis, and we haven't stopped going back! Their menu changes every season and everything they make is locally sourced. They do not take reservations, but you can grab a glass of wine and hangout outside while you wait!
The Choptank is one of the most popular restaurants in town. The restaurant sits right on city dock overlooking the water. We recommend making reservations here for dinner as early as possible because they book up very fast. If you just want to grab a drink, we recommend heading up to the roof top to grab a drink at the upstairs bar! Our favorite thing to get is the crab and chili crusted oysters!
One of our favorite new restaurants that just opened in Annapolis this year is Seasalt. This is a more upscale seafood restaurant with a great atmosphere and great drinks! Our favorite dish on the menu is the octopus appetizer and the salty bread! This restaurant is just a short walk from The Graduate and The Hilton hotel blocks. We suggest making a reservation as it has become one of the more popular restaurants in Annapolis.
Metropolitan Kitchen & Lounge is an awesome option that is very close to the Graduate and the Hilton Garden Inn room blocks. Our favorite part of this restaurant is the rooftop seating. We love having dinner here as well as brunch and they also have a great happy hour from 4-6!
If you are looking to go out for drinks at night in Annapolis there are a ton of great bars in town. Some of the bars we would suggest are Stan and Joes, McGarvey's, Sailor Oyster Bar, Harold Black (speakeasy), Adam's on Fourth, Forward Brewing Company, Metropolitan Kitchen and Lounge, Davis's Pub, Upstairs at Middleton Tavern (Piano bar) and Choptank. If you are looking to grab a drink before the ceremony starts, we suggest Adam's on Fourth, Forward Brewing Company, and Davis's Pub as they are a short walk from the venue.
If you have never been to Annapolis, we always suggest people take a tour of the Naval Academy. It is a stunning campus with a ton of history. If you do plan on visiting the Naval Academy and you are over the age of 18 you must have a photo ID with you, or you will not be allowed on. All visitors must enter through gate 1.
Take a walk down Maryland Ave in downtown Annapolis which is home to a ton of antique stores as well as one of our favorite bookstores, Old Fox Books & Coffeehouse. Our pro tip is to head to the bookstore first and get a coffee there and then head towards the capital building stopping along the cobblestone streets at all the antique stores on your way!
We are very fortunate to be under an hour drive to the heart of Washington D.C. If you have the time, we suggest driving to D.C. to check out some of the national monuments and museums. Our favorite thing to do is to wait until the sun goes down and walk the national mall at night when the monuments are all lite up and there are way less tourists around!
